Mastitis & udder lesions

COW UDDER LESIONS

Milking machine of cows, goats… can cause skin lesion/irritation around the teat when the milking equipment is not adjusted correctly.

Udder lesions caused in this way often lead to degenerative problems which require the teat to be injected with corticoids or antibiotics. With this type of treatment, a withdrawal period is necessary during which time the milk – containing traces of corticoids and/or antibiotics – is unfit for consumption.

MASTITIS

Mastitis is a bacterial inflammation of a cow's mammary gland that results in loss of milk production... Bovine mastitis is caused by Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
